Toot, Toot

Some of you know there has been a bit of craziness at my workplace due to restructuring (translation: cutting jobs). I'm happy to report I will have a job to return to after my maternity leave, although what it will completely consist of is a bit up in the air. I'll continue to do many of the tasks I do today, but I'll have a new job title . . . so now both John and I will be Engineers :) John loves that I have the arbitrary title of Engineer - feel free to ask his full opinion. I'm only hoping for a cool hat to really engage in this new role! I may have to consult with my nephew (big Thomas the Train fan) to help me prepare.

Was this a good idea?

So what is a couple to do when they are only two weeks from their due date? Why take a weekend trip to the North Shore to see the waterfalls of course!

Here are some quick highlights:
Gooseberry Falls (in the background):

Temperance River:

And I had to hike in with the tripod when we saw this scene on the Cascade River:

The view from our hotel balcony (we considered camping, but than thought better of it):

One more note: our 'minivan' got 35.3 mpg for the trip. Can a minivan really do that?

Weekend Update

Our weekend was most excellent! Saturday we did some shopping and ran some errands in SW Minneapolis. Every time I am in this part of town I think we should move there. We enjoyed a picnic lunch at Lake Harriet (alas - no camera!).

Sunday we headed up to Grand Ave in St. Paul for Grand Old Day. It was less than cracked up to be in our opinion.

The ice cream from "Grand Ole Creamery" was the highlight though:

The weather was excellent:

Then I grilled up a mean supper of Porterhouse steack with roasted potatoes & corn. It was actually better than it looks here:

Shower @ Fairview

Sara's coworkers through her a shower last Wednesday. Sara brought her camera and her co-worker Tammy took some pictures. Here are some highlights:
