Beauty and Grace

Shortly after the new year, I was given the opportunity to celebrate my Grandma's life with the rest of my family in Idaho. I flew into Bismarck, from which my brother and I drove to Idaho. It was a beautiful drive.
I spent wonderful time with Grandpa, my family, aunts, uncles and cousins. We all participated in adorning the memorial with some of Grandma's favorite things: butterflies and red flowers.

And finally our drive back to North Dakota; luckily we didn't need chains. (I had to remind myself to keep my eyes on the road.) I'm in awe of the way God shows His comfort and peace even in the gathering of family and in the stillness of His creation.

Oh Sara, what a beautiful post. I love the picture of your grandparents and the flowers especially. The beauty of winter brings a touch of peace, doesn't it? Very nice. Family is so special.

These pictures are beautiful! The scenery is amazing - my Mom said she knew exactly where you guys were stopped in that last picture. I'm glad that you got to spend some time with your family to celebrate your grandma.
