Saturday of Snow
So with our Saturday of snow, Sara and I decided it was time to do some searching for tile for the bathroom. We headed out to Menards and Lowes (we had been to Home Depot previously and they didn't have much of a selection). Menards was a massive thumbs down, unless you wanted plain white tile, then they could get it for you. Lowes, on the other hand, just earned themselves a customer. What a selection! They also had some interesting non-tile options that are now under consideration. Of course, this means there still isn't much progress to report, but oh well.

On the way home we stopped and bought some steak for dinner. We listened to Copeland's Rodeo while making it (the "Beef, its what for dinner" song). I love steak.

Last Weekend
Last weekend (the one with the nice, sunny spring-like weather) my parents came by for a visit. The afternoon was spent looking at furniture stores and houses on the Parade of Homes tour. It was pretty fun and we saw some nice houses. We celebrated a late birthday for me on Saturday evening by getting some asian takeout and watching a movie.
I took a quick picture of them before they left on Sunday to post on the blog, . Here they are in our living room:

Sara's New Project

The wait continues . . .

My straw project cannot begin yet since I am waiting for a crucial item to come in the mail. I must postpone until next week Tues. Here's another clue, though: it involves a bow.
btw Happy Valentine's Day!
John and I were engaged 8 years ago on this day in Fargo after a stop at my favorite coffee shop, a walk in a park, dinner at Lone Star Steak House and a scavenger hunt.

Weekend at Bluefin Bay
Well, it is about time for another Blog update. Last weekend we went up to Bluefin Bay with our friends the Hjelle's and Lee's from Fargo. We had a great time relaxing in a cabin, enjoying some cross country skiing, hiking, campfires, hot-tub time (also making current in the outdoor swimming pool, memories of Anda...), eating, reading and hanging out. All in all a great way to ring in the start of a new year... Here are a few photographic highlights:

Here was all are at the top of Carlton Peak after a hike up the Superior hiking trail.

There were a few mildly icey patches on the hike...

And of course there was lots of nice scenery.
