The Car and the Cardinal

It was a weekend of beginning to feel like suburban parents: we did some more work on the nursery and looked at various other things we will soon 'need'. Then on Saturday we purchased a new vehicle:

This is called a Mazda5. I want to be clear with everyone that this is NOT a minivan! Mazda calls it a "Multi Activity Vehicle". I think we'll go with that.

On Sunday, while doing some yardwork I saw a cardinal that just needed his picture taken:

Isn't there a saying- "you can call a dog by a different name, but it's still a dog" ?

I like the mini-van. Very nice!

If it has sliding side doors, it's a minivan.

If we were planning on kids, I would get a minivan. They have lots of cool toys in them now. Back to the topic, two words:

Mini-van.

Nice multi-activity vehicle.

And the cardinal picture is fabulous.

I think it is too small to be a mini-van. It must be a mini-mini-van.

I'm going with the consensus. It's A MINI VAN!!! You people are in denial. Cling to your pride as long as you can - soon you will have none left anyway - spit up on your clothes, a big diaper bag to lug around and when the time comes, you WILL shout at one of your little ones in Target.

Love ya!!!

If that's not a mini-van then you (John) don't need a haircut.

Love, your fat brother Adam. :)

Hah, I already got a haircut!

So soon????

I want proof of the haircut...I'll believe it when I see it!

Love the picture of your "multi-activity vehicle" and of the "brightly colored, winged animal" in the backyard.

I had to chime in too... when examining a matter such as this, we have to set our emotions aside. According to Mazda it is a "multi activity vehicle", so therefore it is not a mini-van. However, I do believe the doors do slide, which when pointed out by doublee is a textbook example of a mini-van trademark. Additionally, meghans comment rings true to me as well. But, factually and might I say lawfully, it is a "multi-activity vehicle."

All that and I only wasted 3 minutes of work?

Wow, did you ever think your blog would generate this many responses - to a VEHICLE??

I like the mini-mini van tag.

Love the MAV. But what I'm really curious about is if you can still see your feet??
