Weekend with the boys

Eric, Eric, Michael and I all got together in Chicago for a weekend of home-run derby, Guitar Hero and baseball. We took in the Twins - Brewers game in Milwaukee (Twins won 5-2. I think half the fans were Twin fans). Plus we had lots of great talking and laughing. A great weekend all around.

Bye Bye Birdie

Congrats, AH, on your graduation from Hamline University! I had a great time hanging out with you, your family and friends last evening to celebrate your accomplishment! I figure that if I keep hanging around all these smart people, some of the smartness is bound to come my way.

On a downer note, my mourning doves have flown the coup. I noticed this morning that neither dove was sitting on the nest they built in my hanging basket, and it was below 50 degrees air temp. Again, after church, no mourning dove . . . so I checked the nest. No egg. I am perplexed and a bit saddened. At least my hanging plant should fair a bit better now. -s

Have I ever mentioned . . .

I really enjoy Saturday mornings on my porch. The last time I spend this much time out here, John's hair was short! :) Currently our porch is screened in and so begins our next project: 4-seasons porch. As some of you know our projects are somewhat . . . . . . hmmm, how shall I say it . . . . similar to French cooking, it's done when it's done. This time we have real deadlines, the fireplace is scheduled for installation toward the end of June and we need to have the room enclosed and insulated. Some of you are skeptics and doubt we can pull it off. I admit that around 2 am most nights I agree, but regardless of that, we'll post some pics now and again. For now, I'm enjoying this beautiful Saturday morning!

Graduation, Mothers and a Beautiful Day are Great Reasons to Celebrate!

Way to go John!

On Sunday, we held an Open House to celebrate John's graduation. Friends and family stopped by to join us for food and games in the backyard. Monday morning was the graduation ceremony at the U of M Northrup Auditorium, followed by a reception at Carlson on the West Bank.
